Checking out our 'Pea Stalks'

We looked at our 'Pea Stalks' today and wow haven't they grown! We talked about how to look after them when we take them home. We also planted some ornamental Gourds in pots with our gardening buddies.

We are planting!

The weather has finally broken and we are itching to get our hands dirty so after a shopping trip to B&Q we finally start planting!  We bought strawberry plants, lavender, thyme, rosemary, lots of beautiful flowers and even some fruit trees. Let's hope the weather holds out for us.

Collaged flower

Due to the very heavy rain we decided to make a collage flower indoors.  We had a lot of fun getting messy with the tissue paper and glue but the final flowers look amazing. Don't you think? Our Amaryllis had also grown and we took the measurements of the plant and compared them to what we had guessed.

Jack and the Beanstalk

We filled plastic cups with soil and popped in dried peas to see if we could grow our very own Pea Stalk.  We put a stick in the middle to support the peas and drew a castle which we stuck on top of the stick. We then added cotton wool to the bottom of the castle to look like clouds and added a drawn picture of ourselves as Jack.

Cress Heads

Mrs Davies and Mrs Evans thought it would be a good idea if we grew cress on our heads! We had our photographs taken and put onto plant pots. We filled the pots with wet cotton wool and sprinkled cress seeds on top.  We kept them watered and look at us now!

Trumpet Flowers

For the beginning of the new term we planted Amaryllis flowers with our gardening buddies (ECO Council).  We made guesses as to what height they might grow to. We talked about how many flowers we might have and the best way to look after them.
